HeyI have been wanting a pair of American Apparel tights that everyone seems to be wearing for a long time now. But for a pair of colored tights it seems like alot of money. Do you know of anywhere else I could get colorful tights similar to the ones sold there? Thanks Where to Shop Forever 21 $9 Delia's $13
Hey, I'm really into the flannel tunic over leggings style, but can't seem to find flannel anywhere aside from Urban Outfitters. Any idea where I can find it for a decent price? Not that Urban is so steep, just that I can't justify spending $60 on a flannel that will most likely go out of style.
I recently purchased a classic black high waist skirt. I need help with what to wear with it without looking like a flight attendant! i need something warm since its the winter season and I'm dying to wear the skirt!
Hi! Ok I provided a few ideas below. With regards to warmth, I would add on a pair of thick tights and you should be good to go. Worse case scenario, replace the shoes with some knee high boots (make sure they have heels!)
I love Club Monaco- I aint gunna lie. I walk in the store and wish to purchase everything but the cash register. Being jobless for at least the next few months, I choose to drool over their pieces online, avoiding the chaos and drama that would occur should I decide to walk into their store.
Hi, I just found your blog and it's awesome! I love how you have so much info on different price ranges. Anyways, I'm traveling with my BF to South America in February. We live in NYC and it's still going to be FREEZING when we leave. The plane ride is 6 hours non stop, and I want to be cute and comfortable. I fell in love with this bag http://www.shoes.com/ProductImages/SHOES_IAEC1156005.JPG and I want to center my outfit around it. I'm not a heels wearing kind of gal, so some sneakers or flats would be appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance!
Hey! Wow South America sounds like so much fun. Having returned from a few months of traveling, I know how important it is to be comfortable, while avoiding the frumpy look. Airplanes tend to be cool so I always carry a scarf with me. In terms of pants, a relaxed fit is preferable as you want to be comfortable for the 6 hour trek. Last but not least, comfortable shoes are a must! Here is an outfit for you below. Enjoy!
OK so I have literally been looking forever for the perfect pair of tan boots. A few mishaps ensued along the way. I bought one pair super cheap that I needed to wrap around with some kind of lace situation. It takes about 10 minutes to put one boot on. Being incredibly impatient by nature, these boots had to be nixed. Next were the pair I kinda splurged on ($120 anyone?) but they were too short for my body type, cutting me off about an inch above my ankle. Now if you model for a living, they work fine. But if you barely make it to the 5'5" mark, they make you look like a tree stump. Last but def. not least, were the ones I got on sale ($49!!! yay!!), with a heel (to make me look taller), perfect tan shade, high enough not to make me look stumpy and one zipper up the leg for easy on and off access. However, (is there not always a however in these cases?), I am a size 8 (on a good day) and I am pretty sure I chose to ignore the 9 1/2 sizing on said boots. Who needs shoes sizes anyways? Hum. So now, yay, lucky me- I have my pickings of tan boots in my closet but needless to say, they are less than stellar. Today I find myself still on a mission for the perfect pair. I am currently jobless and going back to the student life in a month so my wallet is a tad on the tight side. In the meantime, I will browse the interweb, drooling over my next perfect pair of tan boots.
The blogosphere is bursting with talent. I easily get distracted from my Lookbook work because I find myself checking out what the other fashion blogs are up to, who is hot, what is not etc. I have a few favorites that I check pretty much on a daily basis. If you have not had the chance to get out these blogs, I urge you to do so. They are fahhhbulous! Enjoy :)
Hi, I'm in need of some help. In the spring I'm going to be going to the Houston Rodeo for the festival and a concert. It's in March, so I'm sure it will be warm and humid, typical for Houston. It's going to be my birthday, so I'd like to wear something that is equally cute, functional, and affordable for this kind of weather, and walking I'll be doing. Thanks so much!
Hey Ok so I have a few options for you below, enjoy!
More and more, I am coming to terms with the idea of quality over quantity. One well cut garment is better than 100 so so fits. Granted I love me a good bargain but any stylista or fashion maven will emphasize the importance of investment pieces. What with the economy being a bit all over the place and the environment being a primary concern with all of us, the shopping mindset is not what it used to be. I have become picky. No longer am I frivolous with my purchases. With this shift in mindset, Nicole Bridger, a Canadian (!!!) designer, recently caught my eye. Her pieces are flowy, beautifully cut and seem to all work effortlessly together. To top it off, she uses fabrics that are from natural and renewable resources. Eco friendly is clearly the new black. Below are some of my favorite looks from her Spring 09 collection. Enjoy!
I'm having a horrid time with this! I love color, I'm always all about color, but for my new job as a hairstylist apprentice, I must wear all black, all of the time, but I have to stay fashionable and respectably dressed, I need help on how to dress in all black, and still looking cute, without looking boring! Please help me!
Hmm...black but not boring. Are you allowed to wear accessories? If so, then I would definitely rock a scarf or a nice cocktail ring or even a cluster of pearls. If not, then we have to focus on an allover black with punch. I would suggest 3 things- texture texture texture. That's the only way we can make allover black look fab. Here are a few pieces you can add to an allover black outfit for some added pizazz:
