Hi! I've been following your blog now for about a year, and I really love it! I'm getting close to college graduation now, and I am just lucky enough to have landed a super-important interview in NYC. I am aware that I did not give an option of a puff sleeve blouse as per Jennifer's outfit but I felt the short sleeve one was more fitting. White has always been a tricky color. It always looks crisp and clean in the magazines and yet when we buy white, here is what tends to happen: Situation 1: We vow to take care of it, washing it only with other whites. Then reality sets in and due to lack of time or just plain laziness, they end up in the wash with your hot pink underwear or those never before washed dark denim jeans. This then turns your white into either a pale pink, or a light shade of smog. The “formally known as white” top gathers dust in the closet ( we feel too guilty throwing it out, I mean we JUST bought it and have yet to wear it)... Situation 2: We buy cheap white tops and bottoms, figuring "hey it’s cheap, for sure I’ll wear it" (why, oh why, do we lie to ourselves so?) . A s you walk into a Maxi or a Canadian Superstore, browsing the aisles for the regular milk, butter and cheese, the last thing you expect is to land on the perfect pair of bright flats, or the ideal summer bag, or even, what’s this? Ohhhh, pretty printed skirts! That’s exactly how it feels when you walk through a Joe Fresh Style. Joe Fresh Style was founded by Joseph Mimran (the same dude who thought up Club Monaco and Caban). There are so many great things about this "groceretail" store. The prices are extremely affordable (think $14.00 for a 3/4 sleeve tunic), the set-up is uncluttered and actually pleasant. And yes, there are change rooms (unlike other places where you have to assume you are a medium). The staff is quite helpful and friendly. I live in the cold. It is winter here from October to May. I hate the cold. I was born on an island and the very concept of not being able to wear open toe shoes in November makes me slightly uneasy. But there is this one itty bitty asp ect of winter dressing that makes it somewhat bearable: scarves. Love them and can’t get enough of them. Early on, I realized that a) outside in February without a scarf pretty much meant you were spending the rest of the week at home, watching the Price is Right and Days of Our Lives, eating chicken soup and b) scarves looked good. And I don’t mean the same way you try to justify that the big chunky yet warm boots are cool in a rocker chic kind of way. Scarves look fly even when you’ve taken your coat off. They look effortless. Leaving a scarf on with your regular outfit punches it up. In any case, I have them in all shapes, sizes and color. I am thrilled to see this year, an emergence in the trend.
