Some SJP Inspiration

Image
When I saw this look I initially thought- wow, there she goes again.  SJP never disappoints.  Look at her pairing taffeta and lace- it's incredibly impressive.  I love the colors together- very untraditional, very outside the box and very Sarah Jessica Parker.

Yeah I tried harem pants...

Image
So I was at H&M a few days ago (after I purchased my fabulous white pants :)) and stumbled upon the harem pants.  First question that came to mind: was I that girl?  You know the uber trendy at the cusp of fashion never missed a trend girl?  Not so much.  When you are constantly on the Club Monaco or J Crew websites, browsing for looks and ideas, you know that fashionista is not how you should describe yourself.  As I walked away from the pants, I ran my fingers on the fabric.  Hmmm...was that jersey?  So I tried them on.  Just as I thought, I looked ridiculous.  First of all I do not have the body type for a pouffy pair of cropped pants (I did not think my hips -which I normally swing with pride- could be this wide, and is it me or did I just shrink by an inch or 2?).  Secondly, the pants were too trendy.  I hate being too  out of the box and rocking this number in downtown Montreal would surely garner a few snickers.  Needless to say these pants were not for me.  Maybe in 6 mont...

All about Suspenders!

Spring 2007 Trends

Image
Where can I begin with this? There is so much out there this season, I don’t even know where to start. It is one thing to read the Vogues and Glamours of the world or to view the futuristic collection of Balenciaga and Spanish ladies of Alexander McQeen , but it is another to try and find it at our nearest H&M, adapt it and make it our own. There are many trends that get displayed on the runways that should not be worn on the streets. However, when it is good, it is gooo'oood! Here are a few of my favorites for Spring 2007 1) Trench coat (could you be more Audrey?) 2) Shirtdresses (notice the plural) 3) Silver ballet flats 4) Striped ¾ sleeve cotton shirt 5) High waisted jeans/ trousers 6) City shorts 7) Heather Grey, Crayola Green, Cobalt Blue, Mellow Yellow and Oh So Very White 8) Puffy Sleeve crisp white shirt 9) Wedges 10) Graphic print knit top 11) Lightweight knit scarves 12) Big rings 13) Layering 14) Lucite Happy shopping!
