Seriously the only bottoms I want to wear all summer long are shorts.  I have become obsessed.  I think they look amazing dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with some chill flats.  I love love love this look by Cameron Diaz- so summery with its light color palette, stunning platform shoes and oooh, no over the top accessorizing- lovez it! Shorts- Delia's $30 Blazer- Asos $67 Platforms- Endless $93

Cameron pairs the booties and the mini

I really love this look- the heaviness of a solid boot paired with a mini dresss.  You can get away with uber short dresses if you pair them with similar chunky shoes.  This look would not have worked as well f Cameron would have worn, say, some sky high stiletto heels. 1) Dress- Asos $50 2) Dress- Fred Flare $84 3) Dress- Asos $17  4) Booties- DSW $70

Book This Look- Cameron Diaz

I realize I am about a decade late on this one. Apparently, if you want the most recent looks, then Lookbook is not the place to be :) Yeah, she wore this eons ago at the MTV movie awards when she had to show off what she's got as her dear ex bf Mr Dirty Pop aka the one that apparently brought sexy back (but was it really gone in the first place???) was showing up with his shiny new companion: Ms. Biel. Therefore Cameron felt she needed to show her hot like fire legs...and then some (of course I know this as her and I are dear friends- we even chatted beforehand in her dressing room :P ). Anyways, you can get this look for pretty cheap...gotta love Urban Behavior for that. Granted we do not have a Forever21 in Montreal but by golly, we can still rock the mass produced-inexpensive-will only wear it like 3 times before we start to wonder why we even bought it in the first place look. Enjoy! :)

You would think that in a world of bright accessories, a purple and a yellow combo may be overdoing it. But for Cameron right now...I don't know if it is because she dated Justin or something, but this seems to work. The bright yellow and purple seem to somehow coexist in harmony...pair that with Hepburn's stripes and dark denim and you are good to go. By the way, in light of me always wanting to keep it simple...this about as far as I will go in terms of mixing colors and patterns...so un-adventurous of me! Book This Look: . Stripe Top Club Monaco $39.00 . Jacket Suzy Shier $25.00 . Jeans RW& Co. $65.00 . Scarf Le Chateau $19.95 . Bangle H&M $7.90 . Necklace La Maison Simmons $20.00 . Shoes Aldo $59.95 Free Counter The following text will not be seen after you upload your website, please keep it in order to retain your counter functionality online blackjack

This now famous stripe dress worn by Cameron last winter is now available as a summer/ "let's ease into" fall staple. I am in complete denial, by the way, that fall is just a few short months away. Seeing as I am not ready to deal with cold weather yet (I am going to need to move to Cabo soon), I have done up a summer-ish version of book this look with a low boot. Enjoy!

Keeping It Simple

Image
How many times have we looked at out closets and, with overwhelming exasperation, groaned at the fact that we had zero to wear. Zilch. Na.Da. I am amazed at my ability to simultaneously go broke (by spending all my money shopping) and yet still have an uninspiring closet. I just don’t get it. When I reach that point of complete hopelessness, I try to take a step back (literally out of my closet and figuratively out of my irrational thoughts) and keep it simple. A plain white top, denim jeans and a punch of color in your accessory is the easiest way to be chic. The problem is that it is such an obvious combination that we ignore it, thus complicating our lives and resulting in and obscene amount of unnecessary stress ;) These actresses below have seen the light and realize the importance of keeping it simple. The red purse or the yellow shoe is the center point of the outfit. So remember, next time you stare blankly at your closet, grab the white shirt, the jeans and a splashy accessory...

I do believe that overalls are slowly making their appearance in the fashion world. Applauded for its comfort factor and it denim-ness (it matches with everything), it is no surprise that Cameron is rocking this look. Notice how she has paired it with a simple white t-shirt and metallic accessories to keep the look fresh. Book This Look At: Overalls Costa Blanca $25.50 La Maison Simons $48.00 White T-Shirt Smart Set $9.99 Gold Peep Toes Aldo $80.00 Bangles Le Chateau $9.95-$20.00

BOOK THIS LOOK- Cameron Diaz- SPECIAL EDITION

Image
So here we have our lovely fashion icon: Ms. Cameron Diaz . Notice that she wears the same pair of shoes on more than one occasion (gasp!) even if she is handed new designers duds on a daily basis. Cameron is practical and knows that being stylish has a lot to do with keeping a simple style (not trying too hard) and matching said outfit with outstanding accessories. In this Special Edition of Book This Look , not 1 but 2 outfits are presented. The star of them both: a fahhhbulous pair of leopard print peep toe pumps ( very May 2007 ). Match that with the other articles mentioned (chances are you own them all in some version already- but I still provided pics and locations of where they can be found cuz I am cool like that ) and voila! Outfits deemed appropriate to diva it out with the best of them. Not to sound too much like a tacky 90's chick flick but: " You go girl!" For Night: And Day: If only the outfits came along with a Justin look alike. *sigh* Free Counter The f...

Black & White - Eternal Style

Image
Black and white is strong for Spring 2007 and for Fall 2007. It is timeless and will NEVER go out of style - Donna Karan , Viktor & Rolf, Derek Lam , and Gucci (dress on right) were all showing on the runways for all of 2007. It's great for work and transforms to evening wear. Always fresh, crisp and put together, but you can always add a twist to make it fit with this season's other trends of shirt dresses, kimono sleeve, bold prints and polka dots. Black and white works for every body type and budget. Take a look at Club Monaco's display and website - There are tons out there-H&M, Gap, Costa Blanca Zara, Old Navy. Try and mix more frou frou pieces (ruffles, tiered, layers) with another piece that is tailored and fitted in order for balance. For those who are top heavy, wear black on the top and white on the bottom. Let's not forget about the prettiest thing in the world .... SHOES! Micael Kors (right) has a playful wedged heel for the summer which is...

THE TRENCH COAT

Image
Sherlock Holmes was one cool guy. He would walk around the dim streets of London with his sid ekick, Watson, and his magnifying glass and find clues. The clues led him to solve some crazy mysteries. But you know what made him cooler than his wit and intelligence? His trench coat . Oh yes, the young chap looked mighty sharp in the beig e rendition of what I call Spring 2007’s “You Need It More Than It Needs You” jacket. Do you realize how crucial a trench coat is to your coolness this season? :P Do you really? It is the jean jacket of 1998 . Yes, the one we wore with the matching jeans to look like Madonna in Ray of Light . That one. Ok, now that you have grasped the necessity of the t rench, here is where you can get it. GET YOUR TRENCH AT: WEAR IT WITH JEANS (OBVIOUSLY...):

HEY SAILOR

Image
So apparently when Cameron Diaz has something, we all want it. And I am not just referring to Justin. Granted they did break up, but that’s a whole other blog . What I am referring to are stripes. I have alw ays found Cameron to be some sort of a pioneer when it came to trend setting (almost like Kate Moss in skinny jeans circa 2003). Cameron was wearing stripes back in the day when we were still rocking Boho chic (whatever happened to all those prairie skirts anyways?) The emergence of the nautical trend began in stores last year and has come back like a wave (no pun intended). Roberto Cavalli and Zac Posen had stripes in their spring 2006 runway shows. Giorgio Armani was ahead of the times, when his models sashayed down the runway for his Spring 2004 RTW show in nautical stripes. The good news is that this is a very doable and wearable trend. And the cherry on top: most bargain stores are offering stripes in various shapes and sizes. You have the white, navy and red prerequisites in...
