So my maahhhvelous friends at Chic Intuition have tagged me! Woohoo! I have not played tag since I was like 10 (well, maybe 16, but don't tell anyone...). Anyways, the concept is as follows:
Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Some Random Facts about me:
1- I wake up in the middle of the night (ie 3am) to have a meal...cold...on the kitchen counter...standing up
2-I got my university degree in finance but really really hated it with a fiery passion and my trick to pass was: "whatever you think the answer is, do the exact opposite" and somehow it worked!
3- I get really emotional at Hallmark/ long distance commercials...like try to hide my tears when I have other people around...
4- I hate when people in front of me walk slower than me...it makes me want to pass out from frustration
5- I am THE biggest Lionel Richie fan (please dont' judge...) I know most of his songs by heart and love to sing them out loud which is not good as I may just be tone deaf...
6- I have passed out on the dentist's chair before (I am a huge wimp when it comes to those things...)
7- My family and close friends mean everything to me...awwwwww shucks!
and now...drumroll please...drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Is it possible that Rachel Bilson and Miranda Kerr are onto something? Both have been spotted wearing basic black, gray and navy combo offset with nude shoes. This is where a little definitely goes a long way. Such a plain palette but somehow it all works. I am not yet sure how I feel about Miranda’s uber short dress/ cardigan. But I do love Rachel’s scarf that she casually wears across her neck to punch up what could be a drab outfit.
It has been a while sine I have done one of these. I loved the Urban Outfitters pants. They inspired me to work around them. The top is silk from Banana Republic. I am slowly starting to appreciate the silk trend that has become so frikin prevalent in stores this year.

They say that once you know, you just know. There are no doubts, no questions, no if’s and maybe’s and I am not sure’s. It should be this clarity and certainty that is like no other. You are ready to spend the rest of your life with it. I have always questioned this mind set. You never know for sure right? I mean how can you be 100% convinced?
Well, Lookbook readers…it happened to me. I met the One. Browsing through Aldo on a mission for these tan boots that have become some sort of sick obsessions (I reallllyyyy need another hobby) I saw them in the corner of my eye. It whispered my name- I don’t even know how it knew my name. I held it and could feel the soft leather on my skin. We had a moment, this boot and I, a very special intimate moment (regardless of the fact that it was lunch time at Eaton Centre in Montreal and the place looked like a flea market). Then came the ultimate test- would this relationship last? There was one way to find out…The salesperson handed me a pair of size 8’s and what I had always known in my heart was sealed with certainty when my feet slipped into what I think a cloud should feel like. I closed my eyes and walked to the mirror (almost hit someone along the way, could have been dangerous…), looked at my feet and gasped. It was love. I could not deny it. I tried to push away but was unsuccessful. My heart was full, my life was complete * They say when you know, you just know. You know how I knew for sure? After the purchase, before I went to bed, I left them on my bedside so it would be the first thing I saw when I wake up. Seriously, how sad it that?
*Until I get sick of them and look for a new obsession
So I guess it just does not end. My love for individual pieces is never over. The hunt for that one garment to outdo all others will never be extinguished.
Exhibit A: The Banana Republic Cable Knit Dress. So pretty, so warm and such a flattering color! It looks great with black or gray tights. And I can rock it over the skinny jeans that I have yet to purchase (sheesh! and I call myself Trendini- tsk tsk).
Anyways, let’s all take a moment and take this dress in…oooh.
I know myself well enough that if I were put in a flight or fright situation, I would run like hell. My love and appreciation for flat shoes stems from this. I can walk into a shoe store and pick up every flat (the cheap vs. steep, the trendy vs. granny) and all nod in approval. But show me Burberry’s studded platforms and I shudder in fear. Show me any starlet that dons her Louboutin’s on the red carpet with pride, a tight painful smile and an overabundance of blisters on her toes hidden by concealer and I sigh in pity. I was browsing through the December issue of In Style and came across their section on Fashion Week testimonials. The celebs were discussing heels and in each mention, they just had to include how they were in pain but all was worth it in the name of fashion. Well they can suffer all they want but I refuse to succumb. I will resist until the very end. Even though, if there were anyone on this planet who needs to wear heels, it is I. With incredibly short legs, surprisingly strong calves and thick thighs, the ballet flat could very well be my arch nemesis. But I don’t let it get to me. In the morning, I have no shame in running for the bus. During lunch, I can stroll downtown at the pace of a New Yorker in a hurry (even if I am not in a hurry). At the end of the day, I can get home, put my non blistered feet up and relax. Flight or fright? I say bring it on. I got my handy heel free shoes to keep me grounded.
*euh...is it me or did I just pick some ridiculously expensive shoes for nothing?! Granted they are hot, trust me, you can find some equally pretty, less expensive ones as well :)
