Reader Request! Basics of all Basics

Could you discuss on your blog what the essentials that every woman needs to have in her wardrobe as all time? I am in a rut, I don't know where to begin. My idea of relaxing wear is a good pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. I need a major overhaul in my look.
Desperately seeking help!

you are extremely right about the basics, if each season you change your complete wardrobe with trendy clothes, this will be too expensive, but if you set the trend with accessories, it's cooler :)

thanks everyone! yes, we tend to forget that basics are the essential foundation for a great wardrobe...i even forget that notion at times :)
