When I saw this look I initially thought- wow, there she goes again.  SJP never disappoints.  Look at her pairing taffeta and lace- it's incredibly impressive.  I love the colors together- very untraditional, very outside the box and very Sarah Jessica Parker.

If you do not already know, I am a HUGE fan off accessories.  I cannot reiterate enough the importance of simple cuts 'n colors accentuated by necklaces, scarves, earrings (for those with pierced ears- I really should get on that btw...), bangles, what have you.  But fashion is a complex creature and there comes a time when an accessory is not needed and if anything, discouraged.  Enter the hot pink strapless dress.  You can spot it a mile away.  Should you decide to rock one of these numbers this holiday season, you can breath a sigh of relief, no complications- just you, the dress and your fabulous smile... oh and maybe a pair of great heels (society frowns upon girls who wear dresses and no shoes). :P 1) Laundry by Shelli Segal at Bluefly $151 2) Splendid at Zappos $134

Both Sarah Jessica Parker and Jessica Biel are rocking Giambattista Valli. I don't think one wore it better than the other. Pretty brights punch what could be a "there is no way you are Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie from SATC" blah outfit. I like the fact that she did not match her shoes with her bag. That would be trying too hard especially when you have such a specific color such as patent bright yellow and fushia. The color combination, in my opinion, is a perfect balance. Enjoy! This would not be a blog about fashion without at least a few SJP hommages. Her style can be at times ecclectic, glamorous or casual but always efforteless. Isn't that, in the end, what we all want: The impression that we just picked a few random pieces from our closet and acheived a look worthy of André Leon Tally's approval. *Note: The final touch to this outfit is what seems to be some sort of bow behind each shoe. If you are this gung-ho about obtaining the full look, may I suggest you do it MacGyver style: Pay a visit to your local fabric/crafts store. Pick up some taffeta (or any other fabric ressembling this that is not too flimsy and will stay put). Make the a bow and pin it to the back of each shoe. Voila! People will be stopping YOU in the streets to ask why you picked BIG over Aidan.
