Book this Look- Jennifer Aniston

Picture 23

Jennifer can do simple elegance like no other. Granted her plain white tees, rolled up cargo pants and black blazers can get a bit boring but good for her for sticking to her basic guns, esp for reasons such as this wonderful beige number she is rocking.

A Few Spring Trends

Picture 22

I am seriously looking forward to spring and all of the lovely trends that it brings.  Fall is all about the darker colors- the dark grey, navy blue and black.  Enough I say!  I urge spring to show its pretty head so I can start rocking the pale pumps with some light denim (am a bit over the dark denim these days).  I feel the need to belt everything with a white or nude belt and oh my- the denim jacket (in a light shade of course) will clearly replace last year's lather bomber- woot!

Reader Giveaway!

Thanks to everyone that participated in yesterday's giveaway!

Here is another one for you-
The fabulous people at Louis Anthony Jewelers  are giving away a pair of lovely pearl earrings (they are 7mm, freshwater, valued at roughly $100).

1) All you have to do is check out their site: http://louisanthony.com/
2) Go on a lil' treasure hunt: find which designer features a pink watch
3) Send me your answer at thelookbook@gmail.com
4) First correct answer wins the earrings- good luck!

Oh and sorry- this contest is available to US residents only.

Now if ever you are in the area and feel the need to shop for jewelry in Pittsburgh , may I suggest you stop by Louis Anthony Jewelers.  I have looked through their site and they have some lovely pieces!

On a sidenote...pearl earrings, in my opinion, are timeless.  They go with anything and exude a calm sophistication.  This is where I make an obvious comparison to Audrey Hepburn.  In any case, they look fabulous and if my ears were pierced, I would be rocking a pair.

Style Crush: Amber Rose

I am not even going to lie- I have a huge style crush on Amber Rose.  There are not many women that really make me go whoa and she is one of the very few.  I love that she rocks and uber short hair cut (I am so envious I could scream!).  She has an amazing body (not skinny but incredibly fit).  She makes interesting, provocative and insane fashion choices and really seems to not care one iota about what people think, trends or anything mainstream.  Her versatility is impressive- she can wear the hell out of workout gear in one shot and look absolutely stunning in an orange frock and sky high heels in the next.  She has a few fashion misses under her belt but my admiration for her is unshakable and I just wanted to highlight the coolness that is Amber here below- enjoy!

Style Inspiration: Bold one shoulder dresses!

These days, one shoulder dresses are no longer plain and simple.  They are a direct reaction to the 80's coming back full force, in every way, shape and form.  The latter being emphasized in this case.  The bigger the one shoulder, the better!

Oh and ps- Stella McCartney for 50% off is not so bad at all- granted I can't afford it but it is still worth mentioning. ;)

Inspired by: Hilary Duff and her Chain Necklace

Now I am not loving not am I hating it.  It is pretty plain and simple but there is something about her necklace that I am totally feeling.  Granted I do not think I would have paired such a casual look with that accessory- it seems a bit out of place.  I would see that necklace with a more of a shiny leggings, long white t shirt combo :-P

Style Inspiration: Boyfriend blazers and florals!

Not being part of the print crowd makes it very hard for me to handle season where all we see are pretty prints.  I am not 100% keen on wearing a full out floral dress (I feel like I'll stand out too much or something). However, pairing the floral print under what I believe is still one of the hottest and most versatile pieces around (the bf blazer) make it that much less print-ey and floral-ey.  It's the perfect way to rock the print trend without scraing yourself (if you are a print avoider like me) ;) Enjoy!
